Starkweather is a film about the young man who introduced spree killing to America.
The cast includes Brent Taylor as Charles Starkweather, Shannon Lucio as Caril Ann Fugate, Jerry Kroll as Sherif Merle Kamopp, and Lance Henrikson as The Mentor.
The film was written by Stephen Johnson and directed by Byron Werner.
Inspiring such films as Badlands and Natural Born Killers, this film recounts the tale of teenage American killer Charles Starkweather. The boy had grown up in a relatively normal family of seven with a calm and caring mother and father. However, his school days weren’t helpful. A slow learner, many kids at school made fun and bullied Charles, sparking him to vent out his anger in gym class, which was the only thing in school he excelled in.
After dropping out of school and getting kicked out of his house by his father, Starkweather adopted the only suiting philosophy to his life; he was above and beyond the law.
Starkweather was a huge low budget success being aired multiple times on several networks worldwide. It became a cult classic and even inspired the renowned novelist Stephen King.
