80s celebrities Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer star alongside child actor Angus T. Jones in Two and a Half Men. Sheen depicts Charlie Harper, a womanizer and commercial jingle writer who has two new roommates: his younger brother Alan (Cryer) and his son, Jake (Jones). Alan arrived after splitting up with his ex-wife, Judith (Marin Hinkle) and brought Jake along with him. Berta (Conchata Ferrell) is the Harpers witty housekeeper, who often jokes with and criticizes the boys even though she loves and respects them. Jake is a rambunctious young boy who enjoys the leisurely activities of most male children: video games, television, and sleeping.

Together the four form a strange family unit who weaves in and out of disaster and laughs each week. This season Berta, the guys rude yet loveable housekeeper becomes a regular cast member, a welcome change for fans of her tart humor.

Tune in and watch as Jake catches heat for giving his female teacher, Miss Pasternak an unflattering finger gesture, while Charlie attempts to capitalize on the event sexually of course. Then there is the mystery of the unknown bra, discovered in Charlies car after Evelyn (Holland Taylor), his mother borrows it for an evening. Meanwhile, Alan is angered when Charlie reveals that he framed his brother for shoplifting in their youth, a shame Alan wrongfully endured for years.

The laughs continue when Charlie discovers that the numerous women he has deflowered over the years have created a website discussing his one night stands. As the ladies man attempts to apologize to his victims, he finds them all falling in love with him again creating an entirely new dilemma. In the same episode Alan eavesdrops on Jakes webcam, and overhears something that he wished he hadnt. New tension enters the house when Alans ex-wife, Judith is forced to stay with him after an earthquake destroys her home. If things couldnt get strange enough, Charlie begs Alan to pose as his gay lover in order to impress his homosexual boss at a company dinner. There are many more zany situations this season that are guaranteed to evoke uncontrollable laughter.

A classic television series usually experiences a good, though not awe-inspiring first season. Indeed, the most exciting moments of many sitcoms occur in their second, third, and fourth seasons. Two and a Half Men is no exception. Season two clearly illustrates that a chemistry has developed between cast members, both regular and recurring. Additionally, its writers have gained a better understanding of each performers pros and cons, and how to write each characters dialogue accordingly.

Two and a Half Men was awarded four Primetime Emmy Awards and was nominated for

26 others. Additionally, it was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards.
