Virginia Williams portrays Bianca Foster in Monarch Cove, a 14-episode mystery soap from the producers of American Idol. Bianca was wrongfully convicted of her fathers death and spent six years behind bars. When DNA evidence proved her version of the story, Bianca was released from jail and returned to Monarch Cove, the small California beech community where her family resides.

Yet much has changed in six years. Bianca is adamant to track down her fathers true killer, but inevitably becomes entangled in the rampant scandal and affairs of the town. The man she finds consolation in is trapped in a stagnant marriage; his newfound interest in Bianca angers his wife. At the same time the Fosters must reunite with Bianca, and mend the ties that were broken due to a false conviction and imprisonment. Finally, Bianca is entangled in a battle with the heir of the small town, causing unnecessary stress for both parties.

Throughout the season viewers will watch as Bianca attempts to readjust to freedom. After her release, the former prisoner must face allegations that she was involved in yet another murder. Jake Preston (Kieren Hutchison), Biancas mere friend reveals that he is infatuated with her, despite the fact that he is already wed. Scandal is not limited to the Prestons or Fosters; each family within this small, wealthy community has their own dilemmas that are usually tied into the interests of other local families.

Monarch Cove is unique from soaps and dramas before it. While other shows rehash previous mysteries and conflicts, or create new issues in order to prolong the series, Monarch Cove had a predetermined number of episodes before it was even filmed. From the onset, the writers and producers of the soap wanted Bianca to find her fathers killer in order to conclude the story. In this sense the program represents a mystery novel more so than a traditional soap opera. Viewers will not be disappointed by the constant suspense and excitement of Monarch Cove.
