Same Address. Different Residents. Identical Insanity. Melrose Place: A Decade Later the Scandal Continues

The 90s guilty pleasure known as Melrose Place is back. While some familiar faces return, the cast is comprised mostly of new, vibrant twenty-somethings with a fresh batch of problems. The vices, insanity, and shameless materialism that kept viewers glued to their screens 10 years ago have not disappeared. Drug addiction, alcoholism, prostitution, infidelity, and blackmail are all intertwined into the debut episode alone. Still not enough drama? Writers have tossed a dead, bloodied corpse into the ritzy West Hollywood complex's pool just for good measure.

Sydney Andrews (Laura Leighton) returns from the dead sort of. She now occupies Amanda Woodward's seemingly unaltered apartment at 4616 Melrose and serves as the building's landlady. Dr. Michael Mancini (Thomas Calabro) also returns, whose stormy affair with Sydney might just send wife Vanessa (Brooke Burns) over the edge. Meanwhile the doctor's son, David (Shaun Sipos) has been secretly sleeping with Sydney too.

Herein enters Violet Foster (Ashlee Simpson-Wentz), a small town girl who was abandoned by Sydney as a child. Violet has come to California hoping to reconnect and reconcile with her mom, but ultimately entangles herself in a game of revenge where sex is the ultimate weapon.

One's initial impression of Lauren Yung (Stephanie Jacobsen) may be that she is the sanest of the group. Lauren is outwardly straight-laced and dedicated to becoming a doctor. She's having trouble paying med school tuition however, and her dreams seem to be on the verge of collapsing. When a man offers her $5000 for a night of sex the offer is incredibly tempting, especially after meeting Wendi Mattison (Kelly Carlson) who proposes and even more lucrative deal.

Jonah Miller (Michael Rady) is an IT guy working for a major public relations firm. He is subtly infatuated with Ella Simms (Katie Cassidy), a sultry bisexual publicist who entered the biz as an apprentice for Sydney Andrews. The pair share a close friendship, one that his fianc, schoolteacher Riley Richmond (Jessica Lucas) finds suspect. While Jonah is presently a computer geek, his true aspiration is to become a filmmaker. But how far is he willing to go to make it happen? Tune in to follow the madness that only continues to escalate throughout the season.
