Based on the real experiences of real-life medium Allison DuBois who claims to have helped law-enforcement agencies all over the US in solving crimes, creator Glenn Gordon Caron names his lead character after her as we are thrown into the life of his character, her gifts and how they have been inherited by her three daughters, and of course how these gifts will be used to solve crimes. And even more so, prevent crimes from happening in the future...

In the 7th and final season of Medium:

When Allison's eldest daughter Ariel takes off to attend Dartmouth College, her husband Joe admits that he’s sick of waking up to a new Allison every day. The couple struggle to see eye-to-eye on almost every aspect of their lives.

Joe’s mother Marjorie dies from a brain tumor, yet her ghost appears to Allison and sends her mind into a spin when she warns Allison of the darkness ahead of her and Joe.

What will become of Allison and her husband Joe and her daughters, as in this final season their story is wrapped up by turning their worlds upside down, as every character will be tested and pushed to the edge of their limits enduring through sweeping changes.
