McKinley High's Spanish teacher, Mr. Scheuster, is determined to get the school's Glee club, New Directions, back on track. With a measly budget and the school's cheer leading coach Sue Sylvester working against him and almost ruining everything for him, Mr. Schuester is left with almost no one to work with. Yet somehow this Spanish teacher manages to gather a few kids to sing for his club, though most of them drop out as they get mocked by their colleagues. Mr. Schuester goes to all lengths to put together a crew of promising students to get New Directions to compete in the choir competition circuit and hopefully win the Nationals. All the while as these talented students try to juggle the ups and downs of life as high school students in McKinley High.

In Glee's Season two:
Season two features the return of the New Direction glee club and their preparations for the local and regional final shows. On their way to the finals in New York City though, the club’s members have to learn to help one another in dealing with their personal dilemmas including sexuality, relationships, and family issues.
Coach Sylvester is still trying to destroy the glee club, but Mr. Schuester is giving it all he's got to keep the club going and above water.
Guidance Counselor Emma leads Mr. Shuester to believe that she’s in love with him, which leads to his divorce. Yet now that he’s divorced, will Emma get with him or will her fear of commitment get to her?
