Fresh out of rehab and all tattered on the outside as well as inside, Holmes (John Lee Miller) has to put up with the former surgeon his father hired as a sober-partner, Dr. Joan Watson (Lucy Liu).  With a little digging and some help from Google, Holmes uncovers that she lost her medical license when she lost a patient, and so proceeds to make her life difficult in the hopes that she will eventually throw in the towel and quit. To protect SH's sobriety anonymity,Dr. Joan agrees that Holmes can introduce her as whatever he wants when in public, so he starts by presenting her as his 'valet' to NYPD police captain Gregson (Aidan Quinn). Gregson's asking SH for help on his first case in NYC; a case of a missing woman.

Premiered on CBS on 27 September 2012, Elementary is a contemporary take with a more 'human' and fragile Holmes, and a Dr. Watson minus the moustache. Watch these two juggle their own relationship, as they solve the toughest crimes of the big apple.
