"Charmed" is a 1998 American television series that combines the elements of comedy, drama, fantasy, mystery and romance. The show ran for eight seasons. It was produced by Aaron Spelling and created by Constance M. Burge.

The show, the runtime of which is 42 per episode, stars Shannen Doherty as Prudence "Prue" Halliwell, Holly Marie Combs as Piper Halliwell, Alyssa Milano as Phoebe Halliwell, Rose McGowan as Paige Matthews, Ted King as Andy Trudeau, Dorian Gregory as Darryl Morris, Brian Krause as Leo Wyatt, Greg Vaughan as Dan Gordon, Karis Paige Bryant as Jenny Gordon, Julian McMahon as Cole Turner, Drew Fuller as Chris Perry Halliwell, and Kaley Cuoco as Billie Jenkins

The show is about three sisters (Prue, Piper and Phoebe), who discover that they are descendents of a line of female witches. Each has a special ability (stopping time, moving objects, seeing the future), and they can also combine their abilities into the "Power of Three".

The three sisters reunite and unlock their powers. Now they must vanquish evil and save innocents while living their lives as normal women in the real world.

They turn out to be the world's most powerful good witches, known throughout the supernatural community as "The Charmed Ones", but known to everyone else as the Halliwells. Each sister possesses unique magical powers that grow and evolve over the course of their lives.

The Charmed Ones live together in a house they call the manor and use their supernatural abilities to battle the warlocks, demons and other evil forces that populate San Francisco, California.

The three sisters have the "Book of Shadows" where every demon that they have vanquished and that are after them are written there and how to battle with them. They are most safe in their Manor that they inherited from their Grandmother.

In "Charmed", the three Halliwell sisters have accepted their destiny of protecting the innocent and vanquishing evil doers, even though that is generally not on the agenda of every twenty-something on the fast track to discovering what life's all about.

Prue, the oldest, is driven to succeed and dislikes the free-spirited antics of the youngest sister Phoebe. Piper, the earthy middle sister, mediates between her siblings. Prue has the power to move objects, Piper to freeze time and Phoebe to see the future.

"Charmed" won ASCAP Award for Top TV Series (Jay Gruska and Tim Truman) in 1999, Family Television Award for favorite sister (Rose McGowan), Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Drama Series - Guest Starring Young Actor (Alex Black).
