Different Faces. Same Drama 90210 :Meet West Beverly's Newest Generation

Tabitha, the matriarch of the family, is a 60ish actress who was very famous during the 1970s. Her son, Harrison, a graduate of West Beverly Hills High, decides to move back to 90210

In this reboot of the classic 90s teen drama Brandon, Brenda, and Dylan have long since graduated from West Beverly High, and are succeeded by a number of new faces.  The premise of the program remains largely the same, however.  While the original series followed the daily happenings of a family transplanted into the sunny zip code from snowy Minneapolis, its new iteration adds a slight twist.

Dad Harry Wilson (Rob Estes) is a Beverly Hills native, and the son of a fictitious, alcoholic actress named Tabitha Wilson (Jessica Walter).  After a long hiatus in Kansas, Henry has returned to California to care for his ailing mother.  His adopted son, Dixon (Tristan Wilds) and biological daughter Annie (Shenae Grimes) accompany him.

Annie is an aspiring starlet like her grandmother, elated to relocate and begin searching for her big break.  Like their predecessors two decades before, the teens navigate through tinseltown's world of scandalous relationships, drug abuse, teen pregnancy, and mental illness.

This season the cast begins their senior year distressed, when an earthquake rocks the city.  As Harry and Debbie's (Lori Loughlin) divorce is finalized, Dixon and Annie inherit their parent's sadness and anger.  After admitting to a hit and run, Annie spent the entire summer on house arrest; the fall marks her return to freedom.

Friction brews between Ivy (Gillian Zinser) and Dixon, who returns from Australia with her male friend Oscar (Blair Redford) in tow.  Ivy claims the relationship is strictly platonic, though Dixon is naturally suspicious -- especially since Oscar is her new housemate.  Dixon has a greater dilemma ahead however, after he discovers that ex-girlfriend Sasha (Mekia Cox) is HIV+.

Meanwhile Annie lands a promising position as elderly actress Marla Templeton's (Sally Kellerman) personal assistant.  Before the season ends, Templeton will bestow an amazing and unexpected token of appreciation upon the teen.

Since its 2008 debut, 90210 has received a People's Choice nomination and 10 Teen Choice Award nominations.  Due to impressive ratings, the series was recently renewed for a fourth season.
