A mysterious murder unfolds in new Egyptian thriller on MBC4 “Vertigo” set to captivate viewers

Dubai, UAE, 4th September 2012: MBC4 has started airing the new Egyptian series, Vertigo, set in “pre-revolution” Cairo

The series is based on a non-fiction novel by Ahmed Mourad; scripted by Mohammed Nayer and directed by Othman Abu Laban. In addition to famous Egyptian actress Hend Sabry, the series also stars Yosra El Lozy, Ayman Qassiouni, Mahmoud El Gendy, Sayed Ragab, Ahmed Rateb, among many others.

Vertigo’s plot revolves around “Farida” (played by Hend Sabry), a professional photographer who happens to witness a bloody murder in one of Cairo’s high-end and exclusive hotels frequented by business tycoons and power spheres. The story progresses as Farida, who has become the sole witness of this horrific crime, begins her journey to escape with the only evidence to the crime – the photographs she had taken with her own camera on that evening. Threatening events in her life begin to unfold when “Farida”, adamant to discover who is behind the murder, plods on dangerous grounds, as she discovers that “high ranking officials” in the country are presumably involved in the crime.

  • “Vertigo” is aired daily on MBC4 from Saturday through Wednesday at 19:00 GMT /22:00 KSA.
