When newlyweds Carl and Molly hear that Carl's best man Randolph Dupree is out on his back without a place to stay, they invite the free spirited Dupree to stay with them for a while. But as a houseguest, Dupree has more than a few strange ticks, and an uncanny attraction for disasters- which add a lot of viewing pleasure to the movie, but hardly any fun to Carl and Molly's lives. In short, Dupree makes a mess of everything- but can he through his good intentions and crazy antics get the distressed couple back on track?
