In 1862, Lord Edward Lindsey (Matt Frewer) is the alpha and omega of the opium trade in China, using it to enslave the masses and accumulate unimaginable wealth and power. Thus when Reverend Elders (Matthew Bloomfield) confronts Lindsey and threatens to expose his activities to the authorities, Lindsey has him executed and sends someone to do likewise to his son Jonathan (Tod Fennell). Luckily the rebels of the Red Lotus Society snatch Jonathan before Lord Lindsey's men can get to him, and raise him in their village where under the patronage of Uncle Pei (Gang Zhao) he learns the ancient art of Wushu with vengeance for his father in mind.
