A club owner takes on the Russian mob to seek revenge for his father.
Bobby Green (Joaquin Phoenix) was born into a family of policemen. His father,
Burt Grusinsky (Robert Duvall) is an NYPD deputy chief, while his brother Joe (Mark Wahlberg) serves as a captain. Bobby was uninterested in police work though, and instead opted for a more self-indulgent life as a club owner.
He often came into contact with seedy characters who might not appreciate his police connections, and so Bobby changed his last name. But when a Russian mobster who frequents Green's club hospitalizes his father for months, Bobby goes undercover to seek revenge.
We Own the Night was nominated for a Teen Choice Award. The picture earned $54 million internationally, more than double its $21 million budget.
