Directed by legendary filmmaker Oliver Stone (Platoon, JFK)-Money never sleeps- is a corporate drama and a sequel to the cult film Wall Street (1987) also directed by Stone. The action in the film takes place exactly 23 years after the first film ended and is inspired by the 2008 financial crisis. Gordon Geko (Michael Douglas) reprise his Oscar winning role in this sequel, he is freshly out of prison and a changed man. He is trying to reconcile with his daughter Winnie (Carey Mulligan), with help from his new son-in-law Jacob (Shia Labeouf) who’s also a broker. In exchange of his help, Gordon will set to help Jacob avenge the man he blames for his mentor’s death. But this alliance will come with a price. After all can he really trust Gordon, a man known for his thirst for power? Can this wolf be really reformed? Or simply Greed, too, never sleeps?
