V for Vendetta
One man fights to destroy a tyrannical government.
In the 2030s London is under totalitarian rule following a series of terrorist attacks, while America is ravaged by civil war and a crushed economy. The fictional Norsefire party has hijacked England's government and sends anyone it deems undesirable to concentration camps.
An anonymous, masked man who goes by the alias V (Hugo Weaving) fights against this dictatorship in the people's name, and threatens to blow up Westminster Palace. In the interim, he rescues and forms a bond with Evey Hammond (Natalie Portman), a newspaper reporter nearly raped by Norsefire's secret police.
V for Vendetta was nominated for two Teen Choice Awards, and earned an impressive $132 million at the box office.
