In this endearing deathbed drama laced with comedy, director Steve Stockman shows the final moments of a woman dying of ovarian cancer in this semi-autobiography, inspired by his own mother's passing.

Initially expected to die in 3 days, Anita Bergman (Sally Field) asks for her four children to be present: Keith (Ben Chaplin) a Hollywood writer, recovering alcoholic and student of Zen who tries to hide his deeper sense of helplessness, Emily (Julianne Nicholson) who buys a bunch of self-help books on dying to try and make the transition as smooth as possible, Barry (Thomas Cavanagh) is the middle son who seems more distressed by the availability of broadband than his mom's final moments, and Matthew (Glenn Howerton) the youngest and spoiled baby whose selfish, angry wife Katrina (Clea DuVall) is hardly tolerated by the other siblings.

As Anita's death drags on for 2 excruciating weeks that test the estranged family members, held together by the weakest of links, they all take turns in keeping watch over Anita as the signs of illness progress until her time finally comes. Who will hold the family together when Anita has departed?
