Brad Pitt is Achilles the legendary Greek warrior made famous in Homer’s Iliad, in this spectacular retelling of the Legend of the siege of Troy. It is the year 1250 B.C. during the late Bronze age. Two nations are at war, after Paris (Orlando Bloom), convinces Helen (Diane Kruger), Queen of Sparta, to leave her husband Menelaus (Gleeson) and sail with Paris to Troy. When Menelaus learn of this treason, he is furious and asks his brother Agamemnon (Brian Cox) to bring back Helen. Agamemnon sees this as an opportunity for power and military expansion. So he assembles a vast Greek army and heads to Troy. With the help of Achilles, the mighty warrior they are able to defeat the Trojans. But their advances come to a halt when they are unable to break to defenses of their castles walls. The story focuses on the siege the several battles, and the subsequent plan they managed to pull in order to achieve what was considered impossible.

Troy, benefits of elaborate period sets, exotic sights and landscapes, and a strong cast of A-List actors, from Brad Pitt, Eric Bana, and Brian Cox, and of course the great direction of a veteran Film maker. Troy is Historical adventure at its top caliber, a must see.
