Thunderbirds is a children’s science fiction film based upon a classic British television series of the same name. The Thunderbirds are a pseudonym for the Tracy family, whose patriarch, Jeff is a former American astronaut and billionaire secretly stationed on an unnamed South Pacific island. His children, Scott, John, Virgil, Gordon and Alan work alongside Jeff to defend the world from The Hood, an evil villain constantly conspiring against the innocent. In this case, The Hood is targeting the Bank of London with the goal of crushing the world’s monetary system. Things go awry when The Hood tricks the Thunderbirds into thinking their space station is under attack; the elder children along with their father blast off into space. Meanwhile, The Hood sets his sights on his true target: The Bank of London. Luckily, younger brother Alan and his friends, Tintin and Fermat remain behind and become aware of The Hood’s plot. This is Alan’s chance to prove himself equal to his older brothers and he seizes it, fearlessly using another ship to travel to London and foil their enemy’s scheme. Along the way the children do other good deeds, including rescuing a monorail full of passengers from the River Thames. Yet can these rookie heroes accomplish a grown up task and protect the world economy from The Hood, or will they fail and ruin the Thunderbirds’ pristine crime fighting reputation? Watch to find out! This movie is rated PG for intense action sequences and language. Its runtime is 95 minutes.
