The story of the social networking website that changed the internet, with over 1 billion users in over 207 countries, and of course the way it was founded, and how its founder, Mark Zuckerberg, became the youngest billionaire in the world…

Dumped by his girlfriend Erica (Rooney Mara), Harvard University student, Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) goes back to his dorm room and blogs a rant about her and creates a website called Facemash to rate the attractiveness of female students on campus. The site proves so popular that it crashes part of the Harvard University server, which places Mark on a six-month academic probation.

The myth of Mark creating the popular site in a single night whilst drunk brings him to the attention of the Winklevoss twins (both portrayed by Armie Hammer) and their business partner Divya Narendra (Max Minghella), who commission him to develop a dating-site, exclusive to Harvard students called the ‘Harvard Connection’. Mark then approaches his friend Eduardo Saverin (Andrew Garfield) about an idea he called ‘TheFacebook’, which Eduardo endorses with $1,000 of his own money to help get started. Of course the Winklevoss twins and Narendra believe that Mark stole their idea, and talk of lawsuits commences.

Things take a giant leap forward when Mark and Eduardo meet with Napster co-founder Sean Parker (Justin Timberlake). And a lot of decisions are made in haste, that don’t seem fair to all parties involved…
