Tolkein's The Fellowship of the Ring- the first of the three volumes of the epic novel 'The Lord of the Rings'- comes the first part of the now-classic film adaptation by Peter Jackson. In the fictional universe of Middle-Earth, where hobbits reside, one hobbit especially, Frodo, is given a ring and told by the mighty wizard Gandalf to keep it a secret. During a previous war the Dark Lord Sauron had the ring cut off his finger and so lost his power over Middle-earth. It seems, however, that the Dark Lord has plans for the Ring again...

During a previous war the Dark Lord, Sauron (Sala Baker), had the ring cut off his finger and so lost his power over Middle-earth, where it travelled through a long list of owners who coveted it, till Bilbo Baggins (Ian Holm) found it and at Gandalf's request would hand it over to Frodo.

It seems, however, that the Dark Lord has plans for the Ring again...
