Some fight for power and Some fight for us. She Sacrificed Her Dream for Her Fathers Freedom

In the early 90s the Street Fighter video game series underwent its second iteration at arcades around the world. The game, at the time, was a breakthrough: it pitted two players against one another in a kind of mixed martial arts form, though in 2D due to the eras technological limitations. Competitors could choose from an international roster of fighters, each with unique strengths, weaknesses, and even personalities

The game, at the time, was a breakthrough: it pitted two players against one another in a kind of mixed martial arts form, though in 2D due to the eras technological limitations. Competitors could choose from an international roster of fighters, each with unique strengths, weaknesses, and even personalities.

Aside from being a pioneering fighting game, Street Fighter was the first to feature a leading female character, something that is commonplace nowadays. Chun-Li, whose live-action character is depicted by Kristin Kreuk, was a gifted pianist who witnessed her fathers abduction at a young age. Her dad, Xiang (Edmund Chen), a wealthy Hong Kong businessman, possessed a great deal of land inhabited by the citys poor. Subsequently he was kidnapped by Bison (Neal McDonough), a ruthless housing developer seeking to bulldoze Xiangs property and replace it with luxurious homes for the wealthy.

Chun-Lis misfortune ultimately left her orphaned. Furious, she abandoned her musical studies and joined forces with Gen (Robin Shou), a martial arts master who would become her mentor. It is through Gen that Chun-Li learned her notorious midair roundhouse kick, a crushing maneuver when successfully landed. Equipped with her new knowledge, she sets out to annihilate Bison and rescue her father in Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.
