A young girl's dreams of a haunted nearby town manifest themselves in reality.
Rose Da Silva (Radha Mitchell) is the adoptive mother of Sharon (JodelleFerland), a chronic sleepwalker who experiences terrifying nightmares. During the nightmares Sharon screams the name of a nearby town named Silent Hill. To help her daughter confront her fears about the town, Rose drives there for a visit.
Immediately upon arrival police trail behind them however, and a dark mist descends accompanied by falling ash. When Rosa looks for Sharon she is nowhere to be found, and so a frightening quest for the orphan begins.
Silent Hill was nominated for a Teen Choice Award. It grossed $97 million at the box office, making a $47 million profit.
