(mbc.net) When Tony Montana (Al Pacino) emigrated from Cuba to the United States he was penniless. He quickly found work at a small diner as a cook, but dreamed of much more. Montana quit that job abruptly one night, realizing that the world could be his.
Within only a few short years Pacino's character became one of Miami's richest and most infamous cocaine distributors. As Tony's wealth and power increased so did his problems, including a drug-addicted wife and violent competition. Montana lived a criminal version of the American dream, blinded by greed and unaware of his impending downfall.
Scarface was nominated for three Golden Globes. The film was a commercial success, earning $65 million at the box office.
