She almost loses the before the first day even begins when Bleau decides budget cuts must be made for the next project. But Leta needs the job and offers to do the assignment for a smaller fee and gets in for a surprise.

Leta discovers her duties as an assistant consist of chaperoning a bus full of would-be rap stars from Harlem all the way down to Miami for a video shoot in 24 hours. Along the way there's a lot of bickering, name-bragging, and showcasing of natural talent to talk down and flaunt verbal riffs between girls and guys.

Ride follows this charter bus of misfits with cameo appearances by superstars such as Cedric the Entertainer, Red Man, Dr Dre, Snoop, and Ed Lover.
