She's Not Just a Smile and a Pretty Face Miss Congeniality 2 Armed and Fabulous: Twice the Laughs

After completing her previous assignment, FBI agent Gracie Hart (Sandra Bullock) has become a media sweetheart; wherever she goes cameras and paparazzi follow. That may be flattering for her, but Gracie's superiors are not so ecstatic. Boss Harry McDonald (Ernie Hudson of Ghostbusters and Oz fame) is worried that the agent's newfound stardom impedes her work as a detective.

Yet McDonald sincerely values Hart's presence at the agency and does not want her to leave. Instead he creates a public relations position tailored specifically for Gracie, whose beauty and charm adds a sense of warmth to the ordinarily rigid institution's image. Like any dedicated member of law enforcement however, the agent prefers genuine detective work to time behind a desk -- or in Hart's case a camera and microphone.

That feeling intensifies when modeling pals Cheryl (Heather Burns) and Stan (William Shatner) are kidnapped. Although Gracie begs her higher-ups to join the investigation, they are too afraid of losing their irreplaceable spokesperson. Convinced that other agents lack the same fervor and expertise to save her friends' lives, she is forced to take matters into her own hands.

But before doing so Hart must convince her newly assigned, feisty, and unusually contrary bodyguard Sam Fuller (Regina King) to disregard official orders and follow along. What ensues is a gut-busting, female interpretation of classic buddy-cop flicks like Lethal Weapon and 48 Hours.

Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous was an unquestionable success, garnering over $101 million internationally -- nearly double its $60 million budget. The picture earned a Teen Choice Award and was nominated for a BET Comedy Award. Its soundtrack features familiar tracks from Ike & Tina Turner, Patti LaBelle, The Staple Singers, Pink and many more.
