A psychiatric patient believes he is an alien from a planet named K-PAX
Prot (Kevin Spacey) is a psychiatric patient who claims to hail from planet K-PAX. He is adamant about this claim, and providesconsistent descriptions of it. At one point his doctor,Mark Powell (Jeff Bridges) introduces Prot to a group of astrophysicists who are confounded by the supposedly 'alien' man.
Staff at the hospital are somewhat annoyed by him. His stories are so convincing that other patients believe Prot is truly an alien. He offers to take some patients with him to K-PAX on a very specific date: July 7. Powell suspects the date is significant to Protfor some reason, but why?
K-PAX was a commercial success, earning $65 million at the box office.
