A man's power to communicate with the dead helps him overcome his selfish ways.
An anti-social dentist named Bertram Pincus(Ricky Gervais) has a near-death experience during a routine colonoscopy. Now he is haunted by a series of ghosts who refuse to accept their ultimate destiny, though one ghost offers to purge the others in exchange for Bertram's help.
The ghost, Frank (Greg Kinnear), is heartbroken by his widow's engagement to a new man. He commissions Bertram to end the relationship, but is furious when the dentist slowly falls in love with her himself. As Pincus and Frank quarrel both men respectively learn the importance of loving and letting go.
Ghost Town was a modest box office success, earning $27 million internationally.
