Charles is having difficulty trying to sustain a happy life with his wife. They have been saving money for years in order to give their diabetic daughter the transplant she needs. The marriage is deteriorating due to their busy careers and their daughters illness. However, a chance encounter Charles has on the train to work one day will be Charles' biggest gamble. Lucinda shares something in common with Charles; she too is going through a marital rut. Sparks quickly fly between the two and their conversation leads to dinner, drinks, and finally a rendezvous at a shady hotel to consummate the affair. However, just as the two adulterers are ripping each other's clothes off, a burglar enters the room, brutally beats Charles to a pulp, and rapes Lucinda. The obvious next move for the two is to go to the cops, but they find themselves helplessly submissive under the thief's threats of blackmail. Somehow Charles and Lucinda must find a way bring justice to their lives, while keeping their state of their marriages and their families intact and safe from the thief, LaRoche. This movie is rated R for strong disturbing violence, language and some sexuality.
