(mbc.net) Years ago in a small town, Matilda Dixon (Antony Burrows) was dubbed the Tooth Fairy by its children. Whenever a child lost a tooth, they would bring it to Dixon, who would give them a golden coin in exchange for it. Matilda's closeness to children raised suspicion amongst parents, and when two kids disappeared Dixon was hanged despite her innocence.
Since then Matilda has haunted the town, and visits its youngsters whenever they lose a tooth. Legend states that if one peeks at the Tooth Fairy's face while she is coming to collect the lost tooth, she will kill them. Kyle (Chaney Kley) is the only kid who had survived the encounter years ago, thus when his childhood friend Caitlyn's younger brother 'peeks' himself, Caitlyn has no choice but to seek Kyle's help to save her brother.
Darkness Falls was a commercial success, garnering $47 million at the box office -- quadrupling its $11 million budget. The picture was nominated for a Teen Choice Award.
