A story of how both an individual's love and hatred can affect an entire community.
Crash is the story of 11 Los Angeles residents of various backgrounds and how race, ethnicity, and power affects and interconnects each of them. Some characters include an African-American actor and his wife, harassed by a white police officer during a traffic stop. Another is a Persian storeowner and his daughter whose shop has been robbed, and his interactions within a Latino neighborhood.
The underlying theme is that no one's actions, whether positive or negative, go without repercussions that are felt well beyond the one or two parties directly involved.
Crash won three Oscars and was nominated for two Golden and Globes and three Teen Choice Awards. The picture earned over $98 million at theaters, an astonishing fifteen times its $6 million budget.
