Based on the popular literary series of books by Darren Shan, Cirque du Freak, The story follows Darren (Chris Massoglia) a 16 years old teen and his best friend Steve (Josh Hutcherson). Darren is a good average grad student, and so far has managed to stay out of major trouble.

This will forever change when one night, Darren and Steve venture into a late night Freak show, lead by a real vampire Larten Crepsley (John C. Reilly), by some turn of events Darren is transformed into a Vampire and joins the traveling Circus and very quickly made himself at home, befriending everyone. However, somehow he attracted also the attention of the Vampaneze, their deadly rivals and arch nemesis. With tension between the two rival clans at a record high and an imminent full blown war looming. Darren must figure out a way to stop this war from happening, as it threatens not only the clan but all Humanity at largeā€¦
