Alex Sheldon is a struggling author who owes $100,000 to ruthless Cuban loan sharks. When his lenders tire of his delayed payments they give a final ultimatum: pay up in 30 days or die. With no other options left Sheldon begins penning his next great work, hoping that it can be completed and on shelves within a month. To make this a reality he enlists the help of stenographer Emma Dinsmore, who with some coaxing begins to sympathize with her soon-to-be client. However as the two begin working Emma cannot help but give suggestions along the way, not only becoming her employer’s typist, but also a co-author. Emma’s female point of view adds flavor and realism to the novel and she quickly transforms into an invaluable asset, saving Sheldon not only time, but also quite possibly his very existence. Slowly, however, the couple’s business relationship takes a more intimate turn, and the lines between reality and fantasy blur. Yet with love in the air can the two maintain focus on Alex’s potentially fatal deadline? This movie is rated PG-13 for sexual content and some language.
