Can she blend in with regular kids in a bid to sober? True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet: From red carpet to rehab

Inspired by the trials and tribulations of real-life actress Lindsay Lohan, the made-for-TV movie True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet follows fictional 17-year-old party girl Morgan Carter, played by pop singer Joanna "JoJo" Levesque, as she battles alcoholism and the pressures of fame. After a series of drunken public appearances, including an inebriated lip-lock with the curb at her own film's premier, followed by a life-threatening case of alcohol poisoning, Morgans mother decides it's time for an intervention.

Hoping that time away from Hollywood's wild lifestyle will tame Morgan, the actress is sent to her overtly uncool aunt, Trudy, who calls tediously slow-paced Fort Wayne, Indiana home. With cornfields replacing glitzy clubs Morgan will unwillingly sober up in Fort Wayne, though not before assuming a new identity and enrolling at the local high school.

There she will go unrecognized and begrudgingly attempt to move up the school's social ladder, eventually hooking up with straight-laced, though cute bookworm Ian Nelson (Eli Walsh). She will also make friends with her female classmates, and even discover what it's like to attend her first slumber party.

However not everything is perfect for Morgan. Despite her experience behind cameras, she receives a D in film class. Her relationship with Ian eventually turns sour as well, leading Morgan to unearth Aunt Trudy's hidden bottle of vodka and fall into relapse. Worse yet a female-foe exposes her true identity and location to tabloids, causing paparazzi to descend upon Mogran, potentially blowing her cover in the process.

Despite its teen idol inspiration, True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet manages to blend youthful angst and occasional laughs with adult drama, making it an attractive view for parents and high schoolers alike. The film's soundtrack features the hugely popular Rihanna tune SOS.
