On his ninth birthday, little Omri ( Hal Scardino) receives three birthday presents: a wooden cabinet from his older brother, a set of antique keys from his mother Jane (Linsday Crouse), and a tiny plastic model of an Indian from his best friend Patrick (Rishi Bhat), he doesn’t realize that the three are a ‘magical fit’.

He discovers that objects locked in the cupboard overnight come to life- as eventually happens with his 3-inch figurine of an Iroquois Indian. Little Bear (Litefoot) speaks English, hails from 1761, and fought on the side of the English during the French-Indian Wars. As the two warm up to each other, Omri reveals the secret of Little Bear to Patrick, who surely wants in on the fun and brings to life a toy cowboy, Boone (David Keith).

Yet as Omri and Patrick realize that Little Bear and Boone may be fun, they in fact are real people, and who are they to be playing ‘God’ with the lives of Little Bear and Boone…
