The Great New Wonderful is a strangely lighthearted look at ten New Yorkers’ lives a year after the 9/11 attacks.  The film is not a heroic story filled with roaring flames and daring rescues; in fact, the attacks are never even mentioned in the film.

Instead there are clues that something has affected the ten characters' lives.  Rather than wallow in sadness however, the film humorously examines the average resident's increased stoicism and selfishness.  While the tragic events purportedly united millions for photo ops, isolationism and fear flourished behind their assertive smiles.
