The fourth and final installment of the famous ‘Airport’ film franchise is set aboard an American-owned Concorde. When journalist Maggie Whalen (Susan Blakely) is met by a panicked colleague, Carl Parker, who manages to tell her just before being shot dead, about documents implicating her boyfriend Kevin Harrison (Robert Wagner) in arms deals to illegal Cold War countries, she tries to tell Kevin about the documents. At the airport check-in at Dulles Airport, Maggie is surprised to see Kevin waiting for her to ask if she has located the documents, but as soon as he steps out of the picture Carl Parker’s girlfriend runs up to her to hand over the documents. Commanding the maiden-flight of this Concorde is Capt. Paul Metrand (Alain Delon) and Capt. Joe Patroni (George Kennedy) which will stop in Paris before heading to Moscow as a goodwill gesture before the Moscow 1980 Olympics. But can it out-fly the missiles Kevin is sending their way? Or any of the other disasters he will manufacture to make sure that the documents, along with his girlfriend Maggie, are destroyed?
