This is a story about Mike, a guy who left his girl in New York when he came to LA to be a star. It's been six months since he left and he's not doing so good. So, his pal and some other friends try and get him back in the social scene and forget about his six year relationship. The script, written by Jon Favreau, who also wrote ‘Friends’ and ‘Seinfeld’, focuses on the story of Mike, who has recently broken up with his long-time girlfriend and is still having trouble letting go and moving on. He moves to Hollywood seeking to fulfill his dreams of stardom and celebrity. Yet, Mike fails to fulfill his long awaited dream in Hollywood and ends up lonely in a city he knows nothing about. His friend Trent decides to help rid him of his 6-month loneliness and isolation and Mike starts anew. Mike begins to hang out with his friends, in an attempt to forget about the past. Through his friends, he connects with a beautiful girl called Lorraine. Yet, will his attempt be successful this time? Though inexpensive (production costs amount to about US$ 200.000), Swingers was a success at the US box office, with total revenues of US$ 4.505.000. This movie is rated R for language throughout.
