Beverly (Bev) is an intelligent, young, Italian-American girl who is quickly developing into a woman. She has a deep interest in literature and aspires to be a writer, however she is equally, if not more interested in the pursuit of boys.

At age fifteen an eighteen-year-old boy named Ray enters Bevs life as a knight in shining armor, rescuing her from embarrassment at a late night party. While Bevs repeatedly stated policy for boys is no touching below the waist, she makes an exception for Ray an exception that would shape the rest of her life.

Soon after the couple meet Beverly discovers that she is carrying a child, and in nine months gives birth to a beautiful baby boy named Jason.

From this point forward the young girl struggles with poverty, shame, and a recurring belief that she has destroyed her life. She marries Jasons father, a well-meaning young man, who is unfortunately not a reliable provider, let alone a role model or backbone for a family.

Can she still achieve her dream of attending college and becoming a writer? Possibly but not without obstacles along the way.

This movie is rated PG-13 due to drug and sexual content.
