The story of France's iconic Marie Antoinette from her life as a young queen to the ultimate fall of Versailles.

(mbc.net) Marie was a naïve Austrian princess, who was thrown into the scandal-ridden world of the French aristocracy when she is betrothed to King Louis XVI.

Her new life is a constant barrage of pomp and circumstance, which baffles the otherwise ordinary teenager.

While love has nothing to do with the union, producing an offspring does but Louis XVI shows no interest in being intimate with his wife.

Marie begins to embrace her life of royalty, biding her time by shopping and partying.

But soon the impoverished French people become fed up with the disparity of wealth between the royalsand them, unleashing a revolt that changed history forever.
