Some text no matter how old, still resonate with their truth centuries after their original conception. One writer in particular, was able to gain this accolade, with his Greek tragedy infused plays. Macbeth is considered one of his best, spanning many and numerous adaptations. This time, it’s a very modern take on the play, set in the fiery Gangland world of Melbourne. Not only the setting changed, also long gone the heavy accents of old English, but a more modern Australian accent and dialect, while still faithful to the text. So if you are aware of the play, this will be a treat. If not, brace yourself for the discovery.
It’s Macbeth once again, however this time it oozes style and mannerism. This might be the best initiation to this world Heritage of a play. A must!
