They're young. They're daring. And ready for anything. Just not each other. Jack and Jill Vs. the World: 9 Simple Rules. 1 Big Secret.

Jack is a no-nonsense, thirty year old advertising executive living in New York City. He does not have time for relationships as his life is all about work, his wardrobe consists of nothing but dark suits, white shirts and ties and he appears as freshly pressed as his ads in the citys top magazines.

Jack is a no-nonsense, thirty year old advertising executive living in New York City. He does not have time for relationships as his life is all about work, his wardrobe consists of nothing but dark suits, white shirts and ties and he appears as freshly pressed as his ads in the citys top magazines.

Jill on the other hand is a down to earth aspiring young actress who hopes to make the city that never sleeps her new home. Her beautiful face and cheerful attitude mask the pain that lurks within. Armed with nothing more than a subway map, she attempts to conqueror the city but despite her ambition, she gets lost immediately after arriving, and hopes that a high-rise rooftop will reveal her location.

It is there that Jill meets Jack, who is taking a cigarette break. A conversation ensues and the chemistry between the two becomes evident. Using his clout at the ad agency, Jack lands his new companion a small role in a local television commercial.

At the end of the night Jack takes Jill to her hotel, and discovers that the accommodation is less than flattering. In a random act of kindness he invites her to his apartment, and a romance between them develops. Before getting serious though, Jill creates nine rules that their relationship must adhere to, the first requiring absolute honesty.

Unfortunately Jill breaks the first rule immediately, and fails to tell Jack that she is suffering from cystic fibrosis a disease that means she only has a few years to live. When he discovers her betrayal the relationship comes to an abrupt end, and Jill prepares to leave New York.

At the last minute, however, Jack realizes that mere illness should not keep them apart, and makes a desperate attempt to locate Jill before she departs. But with her bus ticket in hand and suitcases packed, Jacks change of heart might be too late.
