(mbc.net) Douglas McGrath's 'Infamous' is a tour de force, based on the 1997 George Plimpton book which describes the happenings and life of avant-garde author Truman Capote during the late 50s to the mid 60s when he was working on his seminal bestseller 'In Cold Blood'.
On November 16th of 1959 Capote (Toby Jones) comes across a small article in the back pages of the New York Times describing the murder of a family in Holcomb, Kansas. Capote would later decide he had enough material for a nonfiction novel, which would become the influential 'In Cold Blood'. He would befriend the lead detective on the case, Alvin Dewey (Jeff Daniels) which gives him the opportunity to interview the 2 killers that were arrested; Richard Hickock and Perry Smith (Daniel Craig).
