A love triangle in which Cupid is armed and dangerous Emma: A classical tale about a terrible matchmaker

Emma is based on Jane Austens classic novel and stars Gwyneth Paltrow who is about Emma Woodhouse, a self-proclaimed, though more often than not, unsuccessful matchmaker; while she may consider herself a modern-day cupid many, including her father, would use the term meddler instead.

Her subject in the tale is Harriet Smith (Toni Collette), a simple woman of average lineage who was initially infatuated with local minister Mr. Elton (Alan Cumming).

While a man of equal status, a farmer named Robert Martin (Edward Woodall) shows genuine interest in Harriet, Emma insists on pairing her with the seemingly uninterested minister.

Despite that, and also ignoring Harriets admitted attraction to Robert, Emma insists that Mr. Elton and the young lady are a perfect match. Against her own intuition, and faithful in Emmas wisdom Harriet continues her futile pursuit of Mr. Elton.

While the minister is definitely uninterested in Harriet, he does however have affection for Emma and suggests that a wedding ceremony should be in their future.

Nevertheless none of the storys character truly know what is good for them, nor who precisely will couple with whom in the end and Emma is no exception to this rule.

Emma is rated PG for brief mild language.
