A clash of the animal civilizations Cats & Dogs: Only one can survive

Scientist Professor Brody has developed a potentially life-changing chemical, one that can permanently cure human beings allergic reaction to dogs. This is much to the chagrin of the worlds cats, specifically evil feline architect, Mr. Tinkles, who is intent on stealing the formula and modifying it to induce widespread dog allergies.

This places the Brodys dog, Lou, in a unique position as the concoctions closest protector. Unbeknownst to their human caretakers, these cats and dogs have established elaborate, technologically advanced weapons and accompanying headquarters. Each sides respective troops are trained to fight; some are even proficient ninjas.

Throughout the film audiences are exposed to a highly complex cat and dog underworld, where interspecies tensions flare and fighting is rampant.

However, one might wonder why a simple anti-allergen upsets the cats so much, especially since it poses no real threat to their existence. Although Brodys formula becomes the wars focal point, it was initiated by the perceivably unfair capture of Buddy, a neighborhood bloodhound.

In response, angry canines began mobilizing against their whiskered rivals, determined to end their worldly influence. This causes Mr. Twinkles to assemble his own troops and a full-fledged war begins.

The picture was a resounding success in theaters across the globe, earning over $200 million at box offices. A sequel entitled The Revenge of Kitty Galore is currently in the works, and scheduled for a summer 2010 release.

Cats & Dogs is rated PG for animal action and humor.
