True to the novel which recounts the events through Black Beauty’s own P.O.V., Caroline Thompson’s adaptation is heralded as the most powerful representation of Sewell’s novel to date.  While making friends, such as a young Joe Green (played by Andrew Knott as a young man, and Ian Kelsey as an older Joe), Black Beauty also falls in love with Ginger, the chestnut mare. Yet with the many twists and turns of fate in this Dickensian life of a beautiful stallion, lessons are abound, as the simplest of pleasures seem to mean much more as time goes by…
