Barton Fink (John Turturro) is a renowned New York Playwright lured into Hollywood by the promise of untold wealth and money, by a studio CEO Jack Lipnick (Michael Lerner). However Barton fink arrives there, with an acute case of writers block. He is assigned the care of an assistant Audrey (Judy Davis), who’s been ghostwriting scripts for an alcoholic screenwriter W. P. Mayhew (John Mahoney). In addition an eccentric sales man Charlie Meadows (John Goodman) is keeping him company, popping in every once and then. But very soon, Barton is experiencing more than just a writers Block, and his reality is literally melting in front of his eyes, unable to differentiate between what is real and what is dream.
