Dominique Swan depicts Ace in 2006s All In. Ace is an aspiring medical student with a traumatic childhood attempting to overcome her adversities. Her father, Seal (Michael Madsen) was a professional gambler. At an early age Ace would observe her father and his army buddies playing cards at home, much to the dismay of her religious mother who believed gambling was a sin. By watching her fathers games she learned the tricks of playing poker and eventually, Seal taught her the philosophies of the game as well as its mathematical probabilities.

After Seal lost a great deal of money one night, Aces mother (Hayley DuMond) was infuriated. Seal left the house that evening and drove his car off a cliff in desperation. Since that woeful event Ace has avoided involving herself in gambling.

Years later she is a successful student preparing to enter medical school. Her mother, overly religious, disapproves of her career choice and believes it would be better for her to get married and live a homely life. Despite her mothers wishes, Ace heads to begin her studies. Her roommates are two other attractive girls and, of course, three other guys. Inevitably, each one pairs romantically. One night the roommates participated in a game of strip poker, where Ace was able to display her amazing talent at card playing, amongst other things.

Time passes and her skills are soon forgotten. However when Ace is nearly bankrupt and unable to pay her tuition, she decides that she has nothing to lose and risks everything in a high stakes game of poker. Along the way she will reunite with one of her fathers former poker buddies (Louis Gossett Jr.) and battle her cruel professor in a poker tournament that will either secure her education, or send her back to moms house.
