Angel Eyes is a story about a seemingly unlikely couple who cross paths under life-threatening circumstances as though they are destined not only to meet but to save each other's lives. Not once, but twice. The events of the movie follows a Chicago police officer Sharon Pogue, who, while pursuing a suspect one night, nearly becomes the victim of a fatal ambush until a mysterious stranger, Catch intervenes, disarms the assassin and saves Sharon's life. Is it a stroke of luck? Is it a twist of fate? Or just a concerned citizen who happened to pass by at the right time and wasn't afraid to get involved? Maybe, But Sharon and Catch have met once before. They find in each other the means to overcome the emotional obstacles holding them back from experiencing the wonders of the world around them. As the two fall in love, they discover the truth about each other and are forced to deal with the secrets from their past. The movie won ASCAP Award for most performed song in a motion picture (Todd Cerney) in 2003 and was nominated for ALMA Award for outstanding actress in a motion picture (Jennifer Lopez) and for outstanding director in a motion picture (Luis Mandoki) in 2002. The film was a total failure regarding box office revenues, as it only grossed US$ 24 million worldwide, while its production budget amounted to US$ 53 million. This movie is rated R for language, violence and a scene of sexuality.
