Like in its debut, Step Up 2, is set in Baltimore, Maryland and familiarizes viewers with fresh faced Andie Wes (Briana Evigan), a street-wise delinquent street teen.

A few years prior Andie endured the death of her cancer stricken mother and has since lived with Sarah, her mothers former best friend and legal guardian. When Andie and her dance crew, the 410 stage a mock hijacking turned dance routine at a subway station, her continued trouble with the law prompts Sarah to contemplate sending the teen to her aunt in Texas.

However a stroke of luck arrives when Tyler convinces Andie to audition at the Maryland School of the Arts; with the good word of friend Chase Collins, the school directors younger brother, Andie is admitted into the school and saved from life in dreadfully boring Texas.

Tension quickly mounts between Andie and the 410 when she decides to focus primarily on her studies rather than street competitions. As a result the former street star is ejected from the famed crew. At school things are not much better: her first performances are resounding failures generating the disgust of both her peers and instructors. Yet Andie remains adamant to pursue her dreams and soon forms a new crew, the MSA comprised of the schools most talented misfits. With practice and dedication the MSA will attempt to regain street credit in a battle with the 410.

Step Up 2: The Streets was a blockbuster, earning over $144 million worldwide and spawning the soon-to-arrive third edition slated for release in 2010. The film was awarded both an MTV Movie Award and a Teen Choice Award. Its soundtrack features some of rap and R&Bs biggest stars including T-Pain, Missy Elliot, Akon, Ludacris and more.

The picture is rated PG-13 due to profanity, violence, and sexual innuendo.
