Eccentric author Mort Rainey finds his life spiraling out of control after he catches his wife sleeping with another man at a local motel. With a drinking problem and a cigarette habit he can't shake, he moves to his country home and has been going through a messy divorce for the last six months. Writer's block keeps him from penning a single sentence. Then a stranger, John Shooter from Mississippi, bangs on the door and accuses Rainey of stealing his story. Shooter wants him to change the ending and to put his name on the story or else. Shooter is psychotic, and kills Rainey's dog to show he is not kidding. He gives Rainey 3 days to prove the story is his; or else Shooter is going to kill Rainey and anybody who gets in his way. As his wife pushes Mort to finalize their divorce and Shooter systematically destroys his life, he struggles to restore order to an increasingly insane situation. "Secret Window" was nominated for Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor (John Turturro) in 2005, and Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie – Thriller in 2004. This film is rated PG-13 for violence/terror, sexual content and language.
